As of August 10, 2018, the governmental fees for the services provided by the Mexican Intellectual Property Office ("IMPI" in Spanish) will change, particularly the services related to trademarks.
In regard of the agreement published on August 07, 2018 in the Official Gazette of the Federation the "AGREEMENT that amends the agreement that establishes the governmental fees for the services provided by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property" from August 10, 2018 the modification in rates for some services provided by the IMPI, shall take effect.
Please find below a comparison of the main services that will change, for your consideration (these rates do not include VAT):
For the registration of a TRADEMARK. $2,695.18
For the registration of a TRADEMARK SLOGAN. $2,695.18
For the registration of a TRADE NAME. $2,695.18
For the study of an opposition process against the registry of a Trademark, Trademark slogan or Trade Name. $3,704.09
For the renewal of Trademark registry, per class. $2,597.77
For the renewal of Trademark Slogan registry, per class. $2,597.77
For the renewal of Trade Name registry, per class. $2,597.77
For the declaration of use of trademark. $985.67
Is important to highlight the homologation of registry and renewal fees of Trademarks Slogans and Trade Names to that applicable to Trademarks.
As well, for Trademarks, Trademark Slogans and Tradenames filling online and to traditional filling of smell, sound and holographic trademarks the fee will be reduced in 10%. |
