The United States, Canada and Mexico Agreement was ratified by the Mexican Senate |
|
Today, the agreement that ratifies the United States, Canada and
Mexico Agreement ("USMCA") was submitted with the Mexican
Senate for its voting.
After being discussed, with 114 votes in favor, 4 against and 3
abstentions, the USMCA was ratified, making Mexico the first
participating country to ratify the trade agreement.
What next with the USMCA?
Mexico: The ratified USMCA was delivered to the President for its publication in the Federal Official Gazette.
Canada: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau presented the USMCA to
the Parliament, it is only pending its ratification. As the Liberal Party of Canada has the majority in the Parliament, the USMCA will most likely be ratified
United States: The draft "Statement of Administrative Action" was sent to the Congress to enable USMCA ratification before August recess. |
