Over the last years, the so called ?organic? food, has acquired a great popularity among the consumers, which shows the interest of many people for a positive change in their diet, and above all, the search of equilibrium in the environment in which they are produced.
For this reason, some countries, including Mexico, have given themselves the task of emitting laws to regulate the use of such food, in order to guarantee the consumer that the food that is sold as organic, really be it.
On April 01, 2010, the Regulation to the Law of Organic Products was published in the Official Gazette, whose object is to regulate the requirements and procedures that must be complied between the beginning of production and/or organic management, and the Organic Certificate of the cultivations, cattle raising or any other agricultural activity. Likewise, the process through which the Organisms of Certifications must verify that the systems of production, management and prosecution of organic products adjust to such requirements was established.
Likewise, the regulations of the criteria that the operators must comply in each phase of the chain of production of organic products, in order to be able to consider them as organic on national and international markets, were established, designating the permitted, restricted and/or prohibited materials, substances, products, and methods included in the ingredients.
Lastly, the installment of the National Control System is regulated, in order for it to be available through internet?for consultation of any person interested in acquiring information related with the organic production in the country, in order to guarantee the organic integrity of the products.
