Ms. Ramírez has 11 years of experience in law practice. She has focused her practice on customs and international trade and has experience in various sectors and industries, including the maquiladora sector, the pharma and life sciences, automotive, auto parts, electronics, consumer products, among others.
Clients turn to Brianda Ramirez for her experience in the areas of customs and foreign trade law. Brianda advises on international trade treaties and agreements, compliance with non-tariff regulations and restrictions, origin procedures, procedures related to unfair international trade practices (such as dumping), customs related litigation (tax assessments, tariff classification, foreign trade agreement interpretations, and more). Academic and Professional Activities
Ms. Ramírez practiced as an Associate in the International Trade and Customs Practice with Hogan Lovells Mexico from 2017 to 2023, as representative experience she participated on the representation of a Japanese food company in customs litigation related to the legal importation and permanence of assets in Mexico; advised different companies from the automotive parts industry with respect to its customs and corporate structure to be able to secure the benefits granted by the Mexican government to large exporters; participated in the representation of diverse U.S.-based companies on origin verification procedures commenced by the Mexican customs authorities in terms of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), among others.
Previously, Brianda practice as Law Clerk in the International Trade and Customs Practice of Basham, Ringe y Correa (2014-2016) and in Portilla – Ruy Díaz y Aguilar (2016-2017).
She has been a professor of international trade and customs law, and means of defense on customs matters at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), the Instituto de estudios de Posgrado en comercio Internacional, the Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México, among others.
Ms. Brianda has been a speaker in different international trade and customs events, with topics such as IMMEX, VAT Certification, Tax audits in customs matters, among others.
Brianda has written seven customs and international trade articles in the legal magazines “Revista del Centro Universitario de Estudios Jurídicos”, “Revista Reino Aduanero” between 2019 and 2021.
